Frequently Asked Questions
How far along in my pregnancy should I contact you?
Right now. The sooner the better! You won’t regret starting your birth prep early. You might regret leaving it till later! If you’re looking for doula support, contact me ASAP since I only take a maximum of 2 births per month.
What area do you service?
Amazing Birth is available online Australia-wide.
I am based in Lemon Tree Passage in Port Stephens, and provide birth doula support throughout the Port Stephens and Newcastle area.
What do you mean by Christian birth education?
Evidence-based information seen through the lens of Biblical truth, where God is the creator of life and the designer of our bodies and of birth. Most birth courses will acknowledge that birth is a holistic experience - mind, body and spirit. But only a Christian birth course will give the Christian viewpoint on the spiritual aspect. Do I have to be a Christian to participate in the Amazing Birth programme?
Absolutely not! Provided you are comfortable with the fact that there will be references to God and to Christian beliefs, you are more than welcome to join us. The information provided is quality, evidence-based information, and relevant to all mums, regardless of their religious beliefs. Amazing Birth has a unique structure which sees us learning over time, with opportunity to process and apply what we’re learning to our individual circumstances, as well as providing ongoing support throughout the rest of your pregnancy and early postpartum.

Click here and read through the info provided. If anything is unclear, or I haven’t answered your question, please email me. I would love to hear from you!
Do you provide birth doula services only to Christian couples?
No. While I love to support Christian families, most of my in-person clients aren’t Christians. They are local families looking for caring, educational support. They are looking for someone who will stick by them throughout all that birth can be. And I am so grateful to have the privilege of supporting them!
What is a birth doula?
A birth doula supports the mother and family physically, emotionally and with evidence-based information every step of the way. She spends time getting to know mum during the pregnancy and discussing her birth goals. When it comes to the birth, the doula is there to remind her that she is ready for this and she can do it. Yes, those moments of self-doubt can come, and having someone there who believes in you makes all the difference! A doula can suggest comfort measures and implement them or support the partner to implement them, and so much more. She is not a medical figure, nor does she make any decisions for the family, but she helps them to maintain their desired approach and makes space for them to live those unforgettable moments to the fullest.
But I want to have my partner with me! Does that mean I can’t have a doula?
Your doula doesn’t replace your partner! She allows your partner to be able to focus on staying close to you, while she takes care of setting up the environment, making sure you’re both as comfortable as possible, and being there to reassure and cheer on. Not to mention supporting you in advocating for your preferences with medical staff. And so much more!
